Pensacola Platespotting

It's time once again for customized plates. If there's one thing that people around here like, it's naming things. Whether it's a boat or a car or a sports team, people here really like to wear their preferences on their bumpers. Some plates are about the driver, the car or something known only to that person. Here's the best of the past couple weeks.

Red Shifted

In physics redshift happens when light seen coming from an object is proportionally shifted to appear more red. Redshifts are attributable to the Doppler effect, just like changes in the apparent pitches of sirens and frequency of the sound made by speeding vehicles. There's just something about a red car that shouts speed! Whoever coined the phrase 'looks fast sitting still' was almost certainly looking at a red car. This is my ode to those out-there, in-your-face, bodacious redheads.

Platespotting

Custom Plates abound on the Emerald Coast. Some describe the driver, others the car. A few allude to hobbies, some make obscure references. (See if you can spot the Happy Days fan). A few appeal to the better angels of our nature and some to our baser instincts. A couple show affection for a loved one and and one left me laughing, hard.

Emerald Coast Carspotting

The Gulf Coast is similar to South Florida in many ways and worlds apart in others. But one thing they have in common is the love of all things motorized. From exotics to completely original daily driver Camaros to fun Sunday cars, these folks love their rides. This is a sampling of the variety of cars I see around town, in their native environment.
