Emerald Coast Carspotting

The Gulf Coast is similar to South Florida in many ways and worlds apart in others. But one thing they have in common is the love of all things motorized. From exotics to completely original daily driver Camaros to fun Sunday cars, these folks love their rides. This is a sampling of the variety of cars I see around town, in their native environment.

I attended a British Car Show in Boca Raton, Florida this past year. These are not huge sanctioned events, rather, it's a group of local enthusiasts with their favorite rides. The gathering is really for themselves as much as the spectators. But they did bring out a great variety of cars, so this will take up the next two or three blogs. Feel free to identify the ones you can in comments. The cars I'd most like to drive are the Lotuses. Founder Colin Chapman's philosophy of "Simplicate and add lightness' were never more perfectly expressed that in this SiLver Lotus Seven and Red Elan Sprint.

British Invasion Part Two

I attended a British Car Show in Boca Raton, Florida this past year. These are not huge sanctioned events, rather, it's a group of local enthusiasts with their favorite rides. The gathering is really for themselves as much as the spectators. But they did bring out a great variety of cars, so this will take up the next two or three blogs. Feel free to identify the ones you can in comments. The hit of this group is not one but TWO British Daimler SP-250's with their really big 2.5 litre V8 shoehorned in there. Very rare. Get out your driving gloves and enjoy.
